Effortless Entertaining With The Beach People

Entertaining family and friends is a favourite pastime of ours here at UNE PIECE. At this time of year there are so many opportunities to show off your hosting skills. When it comes to creating an amazing entertaining space, who better to receive styling advice from than the creative force behind Australian lifestyle brand The Beach People? We caught up with Co-Founders Victoria Beattie and Emma Henderson about the inspiration behind their new laidback luxe Linen Tableware range and their plans for the festive season.

"We love entertaining at home with family and friends, cooking and baking meals to share with our loved ones. Victoria and I (Emma) designed The Beach People Linen Tableware in our signature coastal luxe with raw & clean edging, to create an effortless luxury that will wow your guests”.

The range features Coasters, Napkins and Tablecloths, all in the softest French flax and two colour ways, white and blue stripe.

What inspired your new range?

Victoria: Our current collection is named The Bedouin Journey as I was hugely inspired by these amazing women who lived a nomadic lifestyle at the turn of the century… their textiles were incredible… they adorned their homes with treasures collected on their journeys…

Emma: The designs are inspired by the textile practices of mudcloth and kilim.

Any styling tips?

As for the Tableware, we love combining either the White Table Cloth back with the Blue Stripe Napkins & Coasters or vice versa so you get that lovely contrast.

How will you celebrate Christmas this year and how will you dress your table?

Emma: Victoria and I LOVE to cook… we beg our families to let us just do it all as we are happiest in the kitchen making beautiful food to enjoy… this year as always we’ll be celebrating around seafood and fresh salads like the one featured on this table.

Victoria: Emma and I love to decorate the table and get out the best silver… if not at Christmas then when do you do it you know! This year we’ve chosen hand made bon bons made my our little ones to make the table fun. Then we’ve chosen wooden and earthy tones for the centre piece that evokes a peace and calm to the table…

Emma: We’ll be spending Christmas day all together at our Mum & Dad’s house, we’ll open the doors in the afternoon and invite one and all to come a celebrate over a GnT… delish!

What makes life beautiful, to you?

Emma: Simple things like a lovely morning by the sea with my family.

Victoria: Same… family time… it’s heaven.
